Monday Night
“Figure Skating Advancement”
Basic Skills
6 – 8 and Freeskate 1 - 6
Once a skater has passed Basic 5, they begin
learning skills that are more of a “figure skating” nature rather than basic skating or skating related to the
game of hockey.
Effective September 2011, the Elk River Figure
Skating Club is taking over the administration and instruction of Basic Skills 6 -8 and Freeskate 1 – 6.
The instructors for these classes will be coaches from the Elk River Figure Skating Club who have had years of experience
teaching basic skating skills through high level, regional skaters.
The coaches will evaluate and place each skater in the appropriate class on the first day.
The goal will be to move skaters through the levels as they become ready, instead of waiting until the session ends
to move them to the next level.
The more often a skater is on the ice, the more quickly they will advance. ERFSC
also has a program called “Team Express” which includes the Monday night classes. This program
provides for more instruction and ice time for a very reasonable price. For more information, see www.elkriverfsc.com.
Because the administration is no longer through the City of Elk
River, you will not be able to register online for these classes. Please complete the form below and mail
it along with payment to the address listed.
